Sense of enlightenment

November 07

Dear All,

Thanks to everyone who made it to our new brand launch party last month, and commiserations to those of you who weren't able to - although the strength of the mojito's mixed by Farida meant that absent friends were soon forgotten (along with our own names, dates of birth, etc).

If you haven't checked out www.sense.co.uk, then this email will show you we've moved away from our somewhat stuffy old look to a more accurate representation of our company's values, and a more relaxed presentation of them. We hope you like.

The party also saw us launch our new bursary, with the presentation of cheques to three local students doing web design at Leeds College of Technology. We take our corporate responsibility seriously, and we felt this was a way of supporting the development of local skills for our industry.

The students turned up in suits too, thereby making me feel a complete slacker - honestly, students these days...smartly dressed, short-haired, and asking me a succession of intelligent questions as I was just finishing the second mojito. Its not like when I were a lad.

Until next month,

Aidan, Managing Director

Dr Dave's internet prescription

He's a doctor, he's called Dave This month the Ebay scammers have moved up another gear. While trying to sell an unwanted mobile phone, a hijacked Ebay account was used to bid and win my item. Despite Ebay doing a great job on uncovering and banning the individual, the Nigerian-based scammer bombarded me with messages dressed up as Ebay/PayPal emails encouraging me to post off the item on the understanding that the monies were being held in escrow, pending a postal tracking number.

A final email from security@fbi.gov was a nice touch too, informing me that I was a scammer and would shortly be arrested. While awaiting my trial and imprisonment, I advise you stay alert - I'm off to buy a cake and file off Ebay...
