New Media agency Sense Internet has emerged as one of the finalists in the National Business Awards, which seek to find the best companies in the UK in the areas of commercial success, innovation and ethics. And MD Aidan Cook was singled out for “Special Praise” in the associated Credit Suisse Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards, where he gained a Highly Commended Certificate.
In the National Business Awards, Leeds-based Sense scored strongly in each category – and, says Cook “eagerly awaits the announcement of the winner at the presentation of the awards” in Liverpool on July 17th,” when he will receive his own commendation.
Since its formation in 1995, Sense has grown into one of the UK’s leading companies in its field and designs and builds websites and intranets/extranets for some of the biggest names in business.
“We’ve always been involved in innovating, to find better ways for our clients to communicate with their audiences,” says Cook.
“Right from day one we have had a strong ethical policy, whether that’s helping charities, or giving staff a share in the company and a say in how it is run - or our strong environmental policy,” adds Cook. “In 2006 we gained ‘gold status’ from the Payroll Giving Quality Mark, which recognises organisations whose staff give a percentage of their pay to charity.”
Founded by the business-to-business media company CMPi, the National Business Awards, which include the Credit Suisse Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards, have been dubbed the “Business Oscars” and are recognised as the UK’s leading cross-sector awards programme.
